Connect from client PC

Please do following steps on the client PC

  1. Start "DataShare Client".
    If you use Windows 8, right-click an empty area of the Start window, click [All apps] icon which is shown on right bottom of the screen. Then you can find [Data Share Client] icon, click it.
    If you use Windows 7, please open (Start) , then select [DataShare]→ [DataShare Client] in this order.
    Then [DataShare(Client)] starts.
  2. Click the [Settings] button.
    Then, the Setting window starts.
  3. On the next window, do following settings.

    1Enter the computer name that is shown in the [Settings window].
       You can click the [Serch for Host PC on the network] button to search host PC.
    2 Enter shared name that you set in the [Settings window].
    3 Click [OK].
  4. Click the the [Connect shared folder] button in the next window.

    Then, the [Windows security] window will be shown.
  5. Enter user name and password on this window.

    1 Enter user name which is selected on the [Autorized user for the sharing] field in [DataShare(Host)].
    If the default user name is already set like below window, and you want chang it, click "Use another account" string.

    2 Enter the passoword of the selected user account. It is the login password on the host PC.
    3 Click [OK] to start the sharing.
POINT
  • The [Remember my credentials ] check box is actually not effective. Credentials are not kept even you check it as . It is good for security purpose.

Then the icon of the host PC's shared folder is shown in the computer list on client PC. Now you can access shared files or folder on the host PC form the client PC.

POINT
If you have any trouble connection from the client PC, please check followings.
  • Please assure the drive letter assigned for shared folder.
  • Please check the network setteings and security softwares.
  • If any error occures when you access sheared folder, please assure that the folder or drive itself is accessible, and writable on the host PC.
  • If an application could not launch from the shared folder, please check the privilege level, application version or OS environments. You may copy it to client PC local folder and try to launch it.
