Dock/Undock Help
The Fujitsu
Display Manager utility’s Dock/Undock tab allows you to set several advanced
display features for your system, as follows:

Saving of display profiles you create in
docked and undocked configurations
·
Enabling or disabling of the saved profiles
·
Restoring of the default display profiles
Display
Profile Properties
The "Display Profile" refers to the
settings you select by using Windows display properties or with a utility
provided by display adapter manufacturer.
The display profile is made up of the
following elements:
1.
LCD
and/or external monitor state
o
Only LCD enabled
o
Only external monitor enabled
o
Dual display clone
o
Extended Desktop
2.
Display
resolution
3.
Color
depth
4.
Display
orientation

When
Extended Desktop is enabled, the following elements are supported:
o
Primary/ Secondary device
o
Resolution/color depth/orientation for
primary/secondary device
o
Display positions of primary and secondary with
respect to each other (e.g., top, bottom). This is set from the Display Properties
-> Settings tab by dragging the image for device 1 or 2.

Scaling
or panel fitting (for cases in which the resolution is lower than the default)
Display Profile Limitations
·
When dual display clone is used, the
primary/secondary device recognition is not supported.
·
Due to issues with the display driver,
scaling may not be retained.
Display Profile Examples
Depending upon your system platform, the
Dock/Undock tab may support two, three or four different display profiles. A number
of checkboxes will be displayed in Dock/Undock tab of FDM. Using these
checkboxes you can enable or disable corresponding display profiles.
Here
are some examples of display profiles that may be available depending upon your
system’s configuration. Please note that names and number of profiles can be
different depending upon your system’s configuration.
Docked Notebook profile:
This profile corresponds to a convertible system in notebook mode when it is
installed in a port replicator. This profile also corresponds to a traditional
notebook when it is installed in a port replicator.
Undocked Notebook profile: This
profile corresponds to a convertible system in notebook mode when it is not installed
in a port replicator. This profile also corresponds to a traditional notebook
when it is not installed in a port replicator.
Docked Tablet profile: This
profile corresponds to a convertible system in tablet mode when it is installed
in a port replicator. This profile also corresponds to a slate computer when it
is installed in a port replicator. Some Slate computers can support docked
landscape or portrait orientation profiles depending on rotation support by the
port replicator.
Undocked Tablet profile:
This profile corresponds to a convertible system in tablet mode when it is not
installed in a port replicator. This profile also corresponds to a slate
computer when it is not installed in a port replicator.
The
corresponding display profiles will be applied after dock/undock events, resume
from sleep states, after reboot, and login.
Saving
and Restoring Profiles
[Save Current Profile] button:
Click this button to save the current display profile. If
the system is docked, clicking this button will save the profile as the docked
profile; if the system is undocked, clicking this
button will save the profile as the undocked profile.
[Restore Factory Default Profile] button:
Click this button to restore the original default display profile. If the
system is docked, clicking this button will restore the original docked
profile; if the system is undocked, clicking this
button will restore the original undocked profile.
[OK]: When this button is
clicked, the state of display profile checkboxes will be saved and the dialog
window will close.
[Cancel]:
Click this button to close the dialog window without saving the settings.
[Apply]:
Click this button to apply the changes you have made to display profile checkboxes.
The dialog window will not be closed.
[Help]:
Click this button to display the help file.
